Sewer Line Plumbing

Running along the water supply lines inside buildings, are bigger pipes which constitute the drain, waste, vent - or DWV - system. From within the house, waste matter is carried to a main sewer line, which then transports it to a sewage facility or to a septic tank.

All waste lines and drain pipes slope downwards, which means that waste matter is pulled down by the force of gravity and is thus carried to the sewer line.

The declining angle of the sewer line also utilizes gravity as it journeys to the sewage or septic tank. The main sewer line could be prone to leaks and clogs, which could lead to distinctive unpleasant odors. Installing PVC lining reduces the chance of leaks within the sewer line.

Blocked sewer lines can be caused by overgrown roots. If roots create an obtrusion, try flushing out the line with a garden hose. If that doesn't work, your professional Los Angeles Plumber can help out using a strong power auger. It's recommended that you ask the plumber for advice on how to prevent roots from growing back; chemical solutions like copper sulfate may be an effective solution.
